For our first issue, we are highlighting the Terrapin Record Label's first debut album: TRL Tape Vol. 1. The Terrapin Record Label (TRL) is a student-run record label at the University of Maryland that showcases new and upcoming artists that are current students. On December 9th 2022, the label released their very first album featuring 7 tracks written and produced by 14 artists and producers within the label. This album features a wide range of genres throughout the tape such as rap, r&b, pop, and afro beats.  In addition to writing their own verses, artists were able to collaborate with one another to compliment each other’s voices. The TRL Tape Vol. 1 is available on all streaming platforms.
